This Saturday, you could leave Grand Lake wearing wearing earrings you made yourself. When ranching pushed north through Colorado in the 19th century, it brought the leather craft with it. Saddles, chaps, belts - all made by hand, carved and stamped by the people who used them. Solder a spinner ring or paint a ladybug into a field of daffodils. Yes, those are both real classes happening this weekend at Rocky Mountain Folk School. 🌼🐞 The glass you pick says something about you. Cut it down with nippers, arrange the pieces, press them into the frame. Some people mapped out every angle, some let it come together as they went. Either way, you can make it in an afternoon and wear it home. This is your last call to grab a spot in this weekend's silversmithing and mosaic jewelry making classes at Rocky Mountain Folk School in Grand Lake, Colorado. April in Grand Lake, Colorado is Mud Season and it's basically Mother Nature's way of telling you to take a class at Rocky Mountain Folk School. Not every April day needs a mountain. Rocky Mountain Folk School has a full week of classes ahead. Mosaic is one of the oldest art forms in the world. It's small pieces, set by hand, held together with time. The first rule of art class: label your mugs. The second rule: there are no other rules. New week, new classes - including two you haven't seen before. Your vacation to Grand Lake, Colorado could actually teach you something. Wood Turning is back on the schedule and seats go fast.
