While we may be pausing in 2026, we’re already looking ahead with excitement—Theresa Rapstine will be joining us in Grand Lake for a special 4-day Rug Hooking Workshop, September 25–28, 2027. 🌲✨ "Big news — we’ve added another day to our 5-session pottery class! 🎉 ❄️✨ The magic of ice returns—but we need YOUR help to make it bigger than ever! The @rockymountainfolkschool’s annual Ice Sculpting Workshop is set for February 7th during Winter Carnival. This tradition brings creativity and community together in the snow, and we’re working hard to grow it into an even larger event this year. 🧙‍♀️✨ Ready to get hands-on this Halloween? Our Pottery Witch Workshop is your chance to learn essential handbuilding skills—slab work, scoring, texturing, and sculpting—while creating your very own witch! Big news for our community! 🎉 Thanks to a generous $200,000 donation from Jackie & Mike Tompkins, the new Makerspace in Grand Lake will proudly be named Grand Spirit. This name honors both the legacy of “Spirit Lake” and the uplifting vision of a space where creativity thrives. The Grand Spirit Makerspace will be a hub for year-round arts, education, and collaboration, with the Rocky Mountain Folk School overseeing daily operations and hosting classes alongside partners like the Rocky Mountain Wooden Boat School and the Cowboy Trades Association. A huge thank you to Jackie & Mike for their incredible gift and commitment to Grand Lake’s creative community! ❤️ ✨ New Dates Added! ✨ 🌿 Did you know the Rocky Mountain Folk School offers private classes? 🌿 ✨ Big things are happening at Rocky Mountain Folk School! ✨ ✨ Add a handmade touch to your holidays! In this festive beginner’s workshop, you’ll create a one-of-a-kind fused glass ornament under the guidance of artist Linda Dewey. Perfect for gifting or decorating your tree—your ornament will be ready for pickup after firing. ✨ From glowing buffalo to shimmering hummingbirds, our recent Glass Fusion class lit up the studio in the most magical way. Each student transformed pieces of glass into a one-of-a-kind night light—proof that a little creativity and guidance can turn into something truly extraordinary.
