Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at the Rocky Mountain Folk School! Today we’re feeling extra grateful for this creative, supportive, big-hearted community that fills our classrooms, cheers on our instructors, and keeps traditional arts alive in Grand Lake. New class alert! 🌻✨ Early Colorado Gives is officially underway, and this year we’re focusing our efforts on outfitting the new maker space. Your support helps us fill the space with the tools and equipment needed to keep traditional crafts alive—wood turning, boat building, leatherwork, metalsmithing, and so much more. Every gift makes a difference. ChatGPT said: ✨ Missed out on our Silk Painted Suncatchers class in October? Good news — it’s back on December 13th at 10am! 🎨☀️ 🌸 It was Fiber Saturday at the Folk School last weekend! Along with our Silk Painted Suncatchers class, we also hosted a Batik on Suede workshop — and what a beautiful challenge it was. This class took patience and focus as participants carefully numbered and pieced their designs together, creating stunning finished works. 🎨✨ Everyone at our Rug Hooking Retreat couldn’t stop talking about the delicious lunches catered by @rockymountainfolkschool ! 🥗🍪 Thank you for keeping our artists fueled and happy while they spent their days creating beautiful hooked rug masterpieces. Clay, creativity, and community—starting next week! 🏺 ✨ Still a few days left to sign up! ✨ The Maker Space is taking shape! The framing is up, roof trusses are in place, and the structure is really coming to life. Over the next couple of weeks, you’ll start to see “green” sheathing and windows installed—each step bringing us closer to opening this incredible new space for creativity and craft. ✨ Our Saturday Silk Painted Suncatchers class was a hit! Everyone walked away with beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces and a new appreciation for the art of painting on silk. 🌈 Mark your calendars — our Annual Ice Sculpting Event returns on February 7th! ❄️✨
