Help Us Keep the Craft/Trades Alive

By supporting Rocky Mountain Folk School, you help provide access to specialized tools, materials, and instruction to people who might otherwise never have access to these crafts and skills.

With your help, we can build something intended to last: a place where knowledge can move from one person — one generation — to the next. Specifically, your support:

  • Enables residents to learn and build skills that can provide lifelong joy and financial independence.
  • Helps us expand our programs, engage more students and give people more reasons to visit during quiet seasons.
  • Helps to build an arts community for generations that provides year- round tourism and economic vitality.

Every contribution helps shape our future. Whether you are a resident or visitor, a hobbyist or professional craftsman, your donation makes a difference. And because Rocky Mountain Folk School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, your donation is tax-deductible!

Types of Support

We have two core annual donor programs.

  • Friends of the Folk School — All Friends of the Folk School are listed as donors on the RMFS website and in our end-of-year impact report. Friends are also invited to receive RMFS newsletters to keep apprised of classes, behind-the-scenes updates and special events.
  • Guardians of the Craft— In addition to all the benefits that our Friends of the Folk School receive, our Guardians of the Craft donors also receive:
    • Master Artisan Patron — $10,000/year
      Four complimentary RMFS workshop/class vouchers (a $400 value) and a personalized horseshoe on our Craft Keepers Circle wall.
    • Heritage Steward — $5,000/year
      Two complimentary RMFS workshop/class vouchers (a $200 value) and a personalized horseshoe on our Craft Keepers Circle wall.
    • Community Maker — $2,500/year
      One complimentary RMFS workshop/class voucher (a $100 value).

How to Give

    Visit our donor page     for secure credit card or ACH payments. (Powered securely via Zeffy).
  • Check
    Made payable to “Rocky Mountain Folk School” and mailed to PO Box 545, Grand Lake, CO 80447. Please share your contact information (name, address, email, phone) so that we can thank you and share a receipt for your records.
  • In-Kind
    We accept donations of high-quality, functional legacy tools. Speak to our Executive Director, Gillian Horne, at (970) 531-1395 to submit a tool donation inquiry form.
  • Other Giving Opportunities
