Celebrate the holiday season with a festive introduction to glass fusing. In this two-hour beginner-friendly workshop, glass artist Linda Dewey will guide you step-by-step in creating your own one-of-a-kind Christmas ornament. You’ll learn safe glass cutting techniques, explore layering colorful pieces of glass, and gain insight into kiln preparation and firing.

Each participant will design and create a single ornament, perfect for gifting or adding a handmade touch to your holiday décor. All materials and safety gear are provided, though participants should wear closed-toe shoes. Finished ornaments will be available for pickup after firing on a later date. For any questions regarding the kiln process or scheduling, please contact Gillian Butler, our program coordinator, at 970-531-1395 or rockymountainfolkschool@gmail.com.

Ready to keep exploring the world of glass fusion? Once you’ve completed this beginner class, you’ll be eligible to join our intermediate-level workshops designed to take your skills even further. In the Watercolor Glass Fusion Technique class, you’ll learn how to create soft, layered backgrounds that mimic the look of watercolor paintings using glass powders and frits. Or, try your hand at sculptural glasswork in our Butterfly Vase class, where you’ll create a vibrant, freeform vase that transforms in the kiln through two firings. Both classes offer more advanced techniques and creative freedom—perfect for your next step in glass art!
