Visiting Grand Lake for Your RMFS Workshop

Welcome to Grand Lake, Colorado! Whether you’re joining us for a one-day class or a multi-day workshop, we encourage you to take some time to enjoy all that our mountain community has to offer.

As the western gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Lake is known for its beautiful lakes, historic boardwalk, outdoor recreation, and small-town charm.

Grand Lake is located approximately:

  • 2 hours from Denver
  • 2.5 hours from Colorado Springs
  • 3 hours from Fort Collins

Weather and mountain traffic can impact travel times, especially during summer weekends and winter storms. Please allow extra travel time and check road conditions before departing.


Frequently Asked Questions

How early should I arrive?

Please plan to arrive 15–20 minutes before your workshop begins. Parking can be limited during busy weekends and community events.

Do I need to complete a waiver?

Yes. All workshops require a signed liability waiver. Please complete the waiver before arriving to help us begin class on time.

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably and be prepared for changing mountain weather. Closed-toe shoes are recommended for most workshops.

What is the elevation of Grand Lake?

Grand Lake sits at approximately 8,369 feet above sea level. Visitors coming from lower elevations should drink plenty of water and allow time to acclimate.

Can I bring a guest?

Only registered participants may attend workshops unless otherwise noted in the class description. They are more then welcome to stop by and check it out though.

What happens if I need to cancel?

Please review the cancellation policy listed on your specific workshop registration page. Cancellation policies may vary by class.
